Are you willing to help "make a difference" in the lives of people with disabilities? The people receiving services from COC have benefited greatly from help given by numerous volunteers. Volunteers have enriched lives by: ~ Being a special friend ~ Taking people along to church ~ Visiting in group homes ~ Providing special music and entertainment ~ Sewing and mending ~ Assisting with swimming ~ Going for walks ~ Teaching basic computer skills ~ Serving on committees ~ Participating in a bowling league ~ Teaching Bible study classes ~ Baking cakes and remembering birthdays Volunteers also benefit from and enjoy their experiences, as they become comfortable interacting with people with disabilities and learning to appreciate each person's uniqueness and special abilities. You can assist in a variety of ways. Choose something you find enjoyable and worthwhile and share it with us. More volunteers are needed and welcomed.
